ISON Consulting is in the business of Providing niche Services in the Indian Telecom Space.
Our team comprises of Industry Stalwarts and is headed by Ramesh Awtaney & Vivek Gupta.
Between us we have achieved a total of over 17BUS$ sales during our corporate careers, mostly with Ericsson & IBM, and that is why our company is called ISON (a tribute to ‘I’BM & Erics’son’).
 
A brief profile of Ramesh & Vivek is given below:

Ramesh Awtaney:

•          A Top Management professional with over 20 years in Telecom,  IT sector. Some of the leading Multi-National worked for are IBM, Ericsson and ABB in ASEAN/APAC region
•          Expertise in business development, with a proven acumen in conceptualising and implementing high value transformational and ‘out of box’ deals
•          Track record of closing 10 BUSD of business in last 10 years
•          Developed a very strong professional network within the Industry  at CEO & Shareholder level.
•          Ability to develop, manage, motivate large high Talent Organisation and Teams. Developed IBM’s Communication Sector in APAC with a 5000+ resources and earlier played a similar role for Ericsson.
 
Vivek Gupta:

•          Developed the GSM infrastructure market for Ericsson in India, acquired and retained 40%+ market share maintaining Ericsson’s pole position as a Network vendor.
•          A  Corporate Candidate for Ericsson Global Positions (among the top 100 Ericsson Employees around the world)
•          Top Talent and Executive with IBM Global he was nominated by IBM and selected as the Fortune’s “World’s Best Salesman” (Fortune – “Gupta is IBM (IBM, Fortune 500)’s top salesperson in the company’s fastest-growing industry in the fastest-growing part of the world.”)
•          Worked in Telecom industry for 19 years and has a unique privilege of developing more than 6.5 BUSD business in last 10 years.
•          Took over Communication Cluster for IBM in India and in one year made it the largest cluster in India. Communication sector contributed 50% of IBM India growth. Market share grew from 2% to 55% in  5 years
•          Has an Excellent Network in the Telecom/IT industry.
 
There are several Service Verticals in ISON:
 
1.       Strategy: We focus on developing strategy around,
a.       Market Entry at a country level as well as anew vertical being explored by an existent player in India. Here we cover everything from positioning to identifying partners, customers, regulatory norms and market price points.
b.      Transformational Business Models – This is a forte of the ISON team as we have the distinction of executing some of the largest unprecedented business models in the history of world telecom.
c.       Network Evolution Strategy – We have significant experience in aligning technology deployment to business feasibility, competitive advantage and future-proofing against redundant expenditure
2.       Business Modelling: Our Team prides itself in having pioneered the IT Outsourcing business model with the IBM – Bharti IT Outsourcing Agreement. This went on to become the biggest sales model for IBM Global Services and thereafter IBM signed several billions of contracts along the same lines. The ISON team used this experience to help another IT ISV partner of IBM to structure a 50MUS$ long term contract in the subcontinent.
3.       Rollout Support: We provide rollout support on all aspects – Network. IT. Product Sales & Distribution.
Apart from having completed extremely complex IN/BSS/OSS & Radio Network rollouts for our clients, we are one of the leading companies partnering and promoting Wireless products in India. We work on the Sales support by signing exclusive distribution rights for products looking to establish base in India. We have already achieved 12MUS$ of sales for our partners. To name a few companies who have signed exclusive distribution contracts with ISON:

·         A Swedish company making high-gain antennas
·         A company that has proprietary Software Defined Radios
·         A company that makes DAS (distributed Antenna Systems) for cellular networks

We are able to provide quicker sales than any other distributor/ partner because of our deep understanding of when, where and why a product is needed by Indian Telecom Operators. Achieving 12MUS$ of sales in 4 months time is testimony to this.
4.       Contract Governance: These days the telecom industry is witnessing increasingly complex contract structures that cover technology evolution, six sigma SLAs, Risk sharing, Reward & Penalty structures etc. In huge networks across large service organizations spread over a wide geography it becomes increasingly difficult keeping track of performance, deployment, timelines & people. The ISON team has the core experience of governing over US$ 5Billion of these complex contracts and we have created an entire governance framework around both IT & Network based services contracts.
